Consultations

Our initial consultation is a relaxed and friendly opportunity to talk through your concerns, ask questions, and learn more about how play therapy works. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other and decide if Play & Fly is the right fit for your child’s unique needs. There’s no pressure – just a supportive space to explore next steps together.

Therapy and Therapeutic Parenting

Therapy for young people offers a safe, confidential space to explore thoughts, feelings, and challenges they may be facing. Whether it’s anxiety, low mood, friendships, school pressures, or big life changes, sessions are tailored to meet each young person where they’re at. Through creative, age-appropriate approaches, we support emotional growth, build resilience, and help young people feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Play & Creative Arts Therapy

Play & Creative Arts Therapy offers children a safe and supportive space to express themselves using play, art, storytelling, movement, and more. When words are hard to find, creative tools allow children to explore their feelings, make sense of their experiences, and develop healthy ways of coping. Each session is tailored to the child’s individual needs, helping them build confidence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing at their own pace, in their own way.

ASGSF funding

Play & Fly is proud to be registered with the Approved Providers List for the Adoption Support Fund (ASGSF). This means we’re recognised as a trusted provider of therapeutic support for adoptive families and special guardians. If you're eligible for funding, we can work with you and your local authority to access support tailored to your child’s needs. Our aim is to offer compassionate, expert care that helps families strengthen connections and thrive together.

Therapeutic Parenting: Therapeutic Parenting: A Gentle, Healing Approach to Difficult Behaviours

Therapeutic parenting is a highly nurturing and structured approach to parenting, specifically designed for children who have experienced trauma, neglect, or early attachment disruptions. Rooted in principles of attachment theory and trauma-informed care, it emphasises empathy, consistency, and emotional attainment.

Unlike traditional parenting, therapeutic parenting focuses less on discipline and more on connection, helping children feel safe and regulated. Strategies include staying calm during behavioural outbursts, using clear boundaries with kindness, and responding to behaviour with curiosity instead of punishment.

This approach has been especially effective for adoptive and foster parents, as well as caregivers working with children who have complex emotional needs. Though demanding, therapeutic parenting can lead to deeper trust, emotional healing, and long-term behavioural change.

Referrals

We welcome referrals from schools, private parents and carers, and children’s services. Whether you’re a concerned parent, a teacher looking to support a pupil, or a professional seeking therapeutic input for a child, we’re here to help. Our referral process is simple and collaborative, ensuring each child receives the right support at the right time. If you're unsure whether Play & Fly is the right fit, we’re happy to chat through your concerns and guide you through the next steps.
